This week, the International Association of Synaesthetes, Artists, and Scientists arrives in Amsterdam for Synesthesia: Interdisciplinary Research in a Multisensory World — three days of scholarship, creativity, dialogue, and connection centered on the extraordinary phenomenon of synesthesia.
From May 27–29, researchers, artists, clinicians, writers, musicians, and synesthetes from around the world will gather at the Orgelpark and the University of Amsterdam to explore the many ways cross-sensory perception shapes human experience. The symposium features keynote lectures, academic presentations, poster sessions, performances, and a collaborative art exhibition celebrating the vibrant intersections of science and the arts.
Amsterdam is a fitting home for this year’s gathering: a city shaped by curiosity, interdisciplinarity, experimentation, and cultural exchange. We are deeply grateful to our local collaborators, volunteers, presenters, and attendees who have traveled from near and far to help make this symposium possible.
